Foot Mechanic Orthotics Technology
Foot Mechanic Orthotics Custom Made Functional Foot Orthoses assists the Foot, provides support and stability:
- A Functional Foot Orthosis is a device that is designed to influence the position and or motion of the Foot through the application of biomechanical principles
- A Functional Foot Orthosis is the most biomechanically advanced type of Foot Orthosis and is only available by prescription
- It influences the position or motion of the Foot, altering the forces acting on the Foot
- A Functional Foot Orthosis requires a significant degree of expertise to prescribe and manufacture
Indications
Biomechanical problems affecting the Feet can increase stresses within the Foot structures and the surrounding soft tissues, creating localised pain in the Foot, Ankle, Knees, Hips and or Back. Often correction of poor Foot biomechanics with the use of Foot Orthoses can improve lower Limb alignment and prevent the pain associated with common diagnoses, such as:
- ForeFoot Pain (Metatarsalgia)
- Arch Strain (Plantar Fasciitis)
- Ankle Pain (Tibialis Dysfunction, Lateral Impingement Syndrome)
- Shin Pain (Shin Splints)
- Knee Pain (Chondramalcia Patella, Patella Tibial Syndrome)
Aim of a FOOT ORTHOSIS is to correct dysfunctional biomechanics and therefore:
- Reduce pain
- Provide support
- Prevent or halt the development of Foot deformity
- Provide better positioning
- Relieve pressure on a specified area of the Foot
- Improve the overall biomechanical function of the Foot
- Improve Pelvic alignment
- Reduce lower Limb torsion and Knee stress
